Sometimes it’s difficult to supply everyone with uniforms, shoes and hats. This can be very expensive for teachers, coaches and parents. When everyone comes together and put their ideas on the table, the responsibility becomes everyone’s responsibility.

Set a Goal

Raising money for a good cause is tedious, but it is well worth the effort. Know what your intended goal amount is and work toward achieving it. Decide how many fundraisers it’s going to take, to get the amount of money the team needs. Are the events going to be held weekly or monthly? How soon is the money needed? These questions should be answered before starting a fundraiser.

To have even more success, and to raise even more money get everyone on the team involved, including family and friends. Come together and brainstorm. The more heads that come together, the more ideas everyone is bound to have. There are thousands of ways to earn money for a baseball team. The challenge is find the ones that work the best.

Here are at least 5 great fundraising ideas, that costs nothing or very little to get started.

• Selling candy has always been a past time favorite for many organizations. Everyone loves a good candy bar. Put them in places where traffic is high; sell them before, during and after a game. Have the team picture or logo imprinted on the wrapper.

• Have a car magnet fundraiser. Every team should have its' own logo. Get several hundred custom car magnets made, and sell them to family and friends. Ask them to display the magnets on their vehicles as well, and sell some to their friends and coworkers. Car magnets are great for advertising and promoting the team image around the neighborhood, and throughout the town.

• Sell team products at the games, and ask parents to get involved too. Make T shirts, bumper stickers, hats and other team items to sell in the community or at some of the games. People like to purchase memorable items, to remind them of the wonderful time they had.

• Have a golf tournament. Everyone wants to be a golfer. It’s a fun activity that many people will enjoy. Sell the tickets for set price. Supply the golf tees and tee shirts for a small fee, for those who don’t have one, or they can bring their own.

• Try having a dinner sale. Spaghetti dinners are very popular. Set aside one day where the community can buy tickets and come together in one location for a nice spaghetti dinner. Many churches will allow such an event, and they may even offer to help sponsor the supplies.
