A superb Cased Knights Cross of the War Merit Cross with Swords. The cross is complete with its original ribbon and ties, and the ribbon is clean and tidy. It has been sewn in the middle and has mini kvk ribbon ties sewn to each end. The case which is of blue morrocan leather is in near mint with only a little handling wear and tear. The inside of the case has a nice silk lid with a black base that is compartmented for the ribbon and cross. The cross is silver and marked No "1" & "900" to the bottom arm. The cross has the little die fault to the tip of the "3" but not the arm. For an indepth study on these awards, readers are recommended to view the book "The War Merit Cross" By Gordon Williamson & Josef Charita, where examples of this type of cross can be found on pages 170-183 .
