Located in Hampton County, South Carolina, where whitetail deer populations and harvests have traditionally been number one or two statewide throughout the history of deer hunting, Buck Run Hunting Lodge, LLC offers the serious whitetail hunter an experience he will never forget.

We offer early season hunts for velvet antlered bucks, and during the regular season you can harvest a buck and doe each morning and evening of every day you hunt! That's no misprint, that's four deer per day! Our season runs from August 15th thru January 1st annually, offering the longest and most liberal deer season in the entire nation.

THE OCTOBER REPORT
DESPITE TEMPERATURES IN THE MID TO HIGH 80's AND ONLY 1.15" OF RAIN FOR THE ENTIRE MONTH, OCTOBER TURNED OUT QUITE WELL. IN OUR OPINION WHEN WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE VERY DRY AS THEY WERE THE ENTIRE MONTH, DEER MOVE VERY CAUTIOUSLY AND GENERALLY DURING HOURS OF HEAVY DEW (NIGHT) SO THEIR KEENEST SENSE (SMELL) WILL ALLOW THEM TO DETECT DANGER MUCH MORE READILY. DEER MOVEMENT WAS VERY SPOTTY WITH ONLY ABOUT 50% OF THE HUNTERS SEEING DEER DURING BOTH MORNING AND AFTERNOON SITTINGS. OUR TOTAL HARVEST FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER GENERALLY AVERAGES BETWEEN 100 AND 125. EVEN THOUGH THOSE RATES WERE DOWN THIS YEAR OUR OVERALL SUCCESS RATE CONTINUED TO BE VERY CONSISTENT WITH PAST RATES AS 53 HUNTERS HARVESTED 64 DEER WHILE MISSING 19. ALSO, MANY SMALLER BUCKS WERE AGAIN PASSED IN HOPES OF HARVESTING A LARGER, MORE MATURE BUCK.

ON A THE BRIGHTER SIDE, RAIN AND MUCH COOLER WEATHER IS THE FORECAST FOR NOVEMBER AS THE RUT SHOULD BE IN FULL SWING! SOME LARGER BUCKS ACTUALLY SHOWED THEMSELVES LAST WEEK WITH TWO IN EXCESS OF 200 POUNDS BEING HARVESTED WHILE TWO OTHERS IN THAT RANGE WERE MISSED. THE NEXT TWO WEEKS SHOULD BE PRIME AND HUNTERS SHOULD EXPECT TO SCORE BIG IF EVERYTHING GOES OUR WAY. WE STILL HAVE A FEW SPOTS LEFT AFTER THE 15th OF THE MONTH SO GIVE US A CALL TO RESERVE YOUR SPOT!
