Private Therapy Services was opened by Jonathan C. Kelley in 2002. The primary objective in opening a new clinic here in Charleston was the desire to create a truly patient centered clinic that was primarily dedicated to intensive one on one therapy. Every patient, their needs and their goals are unique and the best way to make sure those goals are met is through an individual treatment plan worked out in conjunction with the patient.

John is the founder of Private Therapy Services. He graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelors degree in Exercises and Sports Science, completing his National Certification in Athletic Training. John then went on to achieve a Masters degree in physical therapy from the University of St. Augustine, where he studied under Stanley Paris, PT, PhD, FAPTA.
John is a Certified Manual Therapist (MTC) and is now completing his Doctorate Degree in Orthopedic and Manual Therapy. He has 3 little boys and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Boy Scouts of America (Coastal Carolina Council). He has worked with Olympic medalists in track and field, SEC Championship teams, McDonalds All Stars, The Orlando Predators Arena Football, The South Carolina Stingrays, the Charleston Battery and the Charleston community for ten years. John still plays competitive soccer, pick-up basketball, surfs and is giving golf a try.

Melissa is a Pennsylvania native who moved to South Carolina in 2000 on a soccer scholarship to The University of South Carolina. She captained the team to SEC Tournament appearances her last two seasons. Melissa then moved to Charleston to complete her Masters and later her Doctorate Degrees in Physical Therapy at the Medical University of South Carolina.
She now calls Charleston her home and has been treating the needs of the community. Dr. Hutsons specialties include orthopedic, sports medicine and wellness.

Lucy is a South Carolina native and graduate from the University of South Carolina and the Medical University of South Carolina with a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy.
Lucy is a world traveler and the mother of a wonderful son, West. Dr. Freeman specializes in orthopedic rehabilitation and womens health issues.

Joanne has over 34 years of management, patient coordination and insurance billing experience.

Originally from Arlington, VA she joined PTS in 2006 and has added a special and personal touch to all patient needs.
