For the coming 2 years, we are excited about developing a series of 2007 / 2008 additional services to be offered to the clients.

Teen Transitional Shelter (Short Term 30 to 90 days transitional living center)
We are in the final plans to develop a short term transitional housing center for female teenage clients. The age range is 12 - 18. We will have an Intensive Outpatient center housed in the facility as well to provide lifeskills, job skills, psychological skills, and psychiatric treatment, if the teen meets the criteria for admission into the IOP. A teen can be admitted into the transitional program without being a part of the IOP. We will coordinate with the local schools to monitor the teen's performance. Referrals will come from private pay sources as well as state agencies (DJJ, DFCS, etc).

If the teen is not doing well in regular school, then the inhouse GED program will be considered for the client as well as Job Corp services.

As it has been described in the past, we offer "value added" services for our clients. In 2008, we will be offering a GED training program to help parents, who we are working with in other ways, to get a head start by completing their GED. This can make a powerful impact on the families when their children return and the parent has developed better job skills.

In conjunction with the GED program, we will also start a job skills program which will be conducted on Wednesday evenings. This is where we will teach job interviewing skills, resume building, and team building skills. Helping clients learn to be more successful in the job field is a part of building stronger families.

We have notice that when children are removed from the home and placed in foster care that in many cases, the parents' food stamps are also stopped. In order to assist the parents during this difficult crisis, we have partnered with Angel Food Ministries (located out of Monroe, Georgia) to help these families continue get food in the homes without food stamps. This is a program that will help a parents maintain food in the home. It has been noted that many of these families have very few resources and thus while we are working with them on other elements of their case plan, we are able to assist them in building resources in their life.
This is in addition to our short term food service through Golden Harvest food bank. So as you can see, 2006 was a good year and 2007 is building our successes of the previous year. We are striving to be the best in our efforts of enriching the lives of our clients and their families.

The Southeastern Family Institute, Inc. is a non profit organization that provides support and therapy for children, adolescent, and families. The committment of the Center is to assist children, adolescents, their families, as well as couples to discover a more healthy way of life. Our staff is a diversified group of professionals that share a common committment to excellence in treating families and their children.
A value-based approach to therapy guides a client to find themselves within the context of their environment. Many clients and their families have lost their orientation and their means to find their way to need their drive for personal satisfaction.
