DavisAir is a private airline, authorized by the FAA, operating a Beechcraft King Air E90 turboprop which is based at the Charleston International Airport. The aircraft is fully pressurized, air conditioned and equipped with modern GPS electronics. We fly to hundreds of airports within a 1000-mile range from Charleston. When chartering a private aircraft you are not just buying a seat, as with the airlines, but you are leasing the entire airplane, by the hour, for your private use. We fly on your schedule with up to six passengers of your choosing. Consequently, private charter is more expensive than the airlines.
All of our charters begin and end in Charleston. In most cases, short duration trips (2-3 days) are most practical. Longer trips (over 4 days) are more expensive, because they involve an extra roundtrip when the plane and crew must return to Charleston, then go back to bring you and your passengers back to Charleston. As an example of the costs, a typical weekend trip (3 days) to a destination such as West Palm Beach, Florida, would cost approximately $6,000. Weather and other factors influence the final cost.
For a firm quote for a particular trip, please call or email us and have the following information ready:
• When you wish to depart
• How many passengers will be traveling
Once we have this information, we can give you a firm price quote.
Flying on a private plane is infinitely easier than the airlines. Most flights are non-stop, with only you and your passengers on board. Your luggage is always with you. The airplane has 6 passenger seats in addition to the crew. It is convenient, comfortable, safe and private.
