Welcome to Dermatologic Surgery of the Carolinas, LLC
At Dermatologic Surgery of the Carolinas, we specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, including Mohs, Reconstructive, and general dermatologic surgery. Mohs Surgery is the most state-of-the-art treatment for many types of skin cancer and Dr. David Lane, M.D obtained advanced fellowship training in this and other procedures. Mohs Surgery is the most effective way to treat certain types of skin cancer with cure rates as high as 99%. Along with higher cure rates, Mohs Surgery is a tissue-sparing technique that allows the removal of only cancerous tissue while preserving normal tissue. This can be extremely important in cosmetically sensitive areas like the face and neck.
Along with treating established skin cancers, we are pleased to provide Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) for the treatment of precancerous lesions, or actinic keratoses. Photodynamic Therapy is an advanced treatment for actinic keratoses that can prevent their progression into skin cancer, specifically squamous cell carcinoma. This two-part treatment uses light to active a topical medicine that will destroy precancerous cells and has the advantages of low down-time, good cosmetic response, no topical medication to apply daily, and no reports of scarring to date.
Dr. Lane also performs a variety of cosmetic procedures such as Botox, Filler injections (Restylane, Radiesse, Juvederm), Sclerotherapy for leg veins and cosmetic removal of moles and other skin growths.
