WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?
Hypnosis is a means of communication between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. Many human problems, habits, stresses, anxieties, and fears an be traced to interpretations by the subconscious mind, which when understood by the conscious mind can reduce or resolve specific problems.
Visualize the conscious mind, if you will, as a video or audio tape constantly playing, constantly analyzing, and constantly keeping you together. In order to access the subconscious mind we have to bypass all that analyzing, all that figuring out, all that planning and plotting. The hypnotist is trained to guide the individual to put the mind on pause. When it is calm, like a peaceful lake, it is open to receive new suggestions.
CONSCIOUS V. SUBCONSCIOUS MIND
We have two minds; the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. Everything we have ever heard, felt, seen or experienced is stored in the subconscious mind. With the arrival of constant new data things get pushed into the background, but they never go away. Through hypnosis we can be regressed back to different times or lives. Difficult, troublesome memories can be recalled and transformed into new healthier emotional memories. The subconscious mind does not know the difference between fiction and non-fiction, so through hypnosis we can program the subconscious with beautiful new emotional memories. In this way an individual who had a difficult start in life can change a limiting belief system. Weight Loss Hypnosis, Stop Smoking Hypnosis, and treating the addictive personality are also addressed in this way.
WHAT DOES HYPNOSIS FEEL LIKE?
Usually the client does not feel hypnotized. You will not be floating around the room. While under hypnosis, you will not be unconscious or asleep. you will be aware of everything that is being said. You will usually remember everything afterwards. Hypnosis a very relaxed state of being. Hypnosis is often described as a mental massage.
HOW DOES SELF-HYPNOSIS WORK?
Through self-hypnosis you can learn to create your own success strategies for mastering different categories in life. Self-hypnosis can be mastered by everyone. Coaching in self-hypnosis can be mastered in a few private individual sessions tailored to your specific needs. A personal consultation can provide you with self-hypnosis techniques that target the outcome you desire to achieve.
CAN HYPNOSIS BOOST THE IMMUNE SYSTEM?
Hypnosis also taps into the autonomic nervous system. Research has demonstrated that a person's body chemistry actually changes under hypnosis. Recent studies also show that 94% of clients benefit from hypnotherapy even if the only benefit is relaxation.
WILL I DIVULGE SECRETS UNDER HYPNOSIS?
Hypnosis is not a truth serum. The bones will not come rattling out of your closet under hypnosis. In fact you can lie under hypnosis. However, during deep, peaceful meditation you will likely stumble on some inner truths, and you will likely get some useful insight about yourself, or your situation that you were consciously unaware of. For example, maybe you have an imprint that you can't lose weight and keep it off. When an imprint is removed through hypnosis, the subconscious mind may have a new emotional agenda and the individual begins to let go of weight and keep it off forever.
CAN A STAGE HYPNOTIST MAKE PEOPLE DO OUTRAGEOUS THINGS?
No, no and no. This is a big, fat myth. The hypnotist does not have magical powers. A hypnotist can't make you do anything that you don't want to do. The real truth of the matter is that these people do these things because they have a desire to do outrageous things and have some fun. The people who volunteer for a stage show, and then act shy or inhibited, or who refuse to accept suggestions are soon returned to their seats. Hypnosis is a cooperative effort. The hypnotist suggests--the subject accepts the suggestions because the subject wants to accept them. Stage hypnosis is fun time. If the subjects do not want to have fun, the show will not go on.
WILL THE HYPNOTIST TAKE CONTROL OF MY MIND?
Absolutely not. The client is always in control. The hypnotist is the steering wheel, the client is the engine. If there is no power in the engine, we are going nowhere.
CAN I GET STUCK IN HYPNOSIS?
Only in a Hollywood movie, or in a novel. But in reality in the unikely event that the hypotist left the client alone for a while. The client might fall asleep and then wake up naturally and leave, or the client would immediately notice the absence of the hypnotist's voice and get up and check out the situation in the same way a patient would in a doctors office under the same circumstances.
HOW CAN HYPNOSIS TRANSFORM MY LIFE FOR THE BETTER?
Hypnosis is an ideal way to change a faulty belief system.
Hypnosis is a geat way to relax, clear the mind and enable the subconscious mind to accept stress management tips.
Hypnosis is a wonderful way to learn and install new habits for the addictive personality.
Repeated self-hypnosis sessions are beneficial in many ways, especially for weight loss hypnosis. Repetition is the mother of success. You can train your mind and body to get better at relaxing and letting go.
Ancient Egyptians and Greeks used hypnosis for therapeutic means in sleep clinics. Much later, in 1776, a German physician, Franz Mesmer, "rediscovered" a form of hypnosis that he termed Mesmerism. In the 19th century, Sigmund Freud, the father of modern psychiatry, utilized hypnosis. After he began to favor his own method of analysis, hypnosis fell out of popularity.

Medical interest and acceptance was revived following World War II when the U.S. government utilized hypnosis to treat shell shocked war casualties. In 1958, the American Medical Association (AMA) approved the use of hypnotherapy as a valid medical treatment. In 1995, the National Institute of Health (NIH) acknowledged its effectiveness for the treatment of chronic pain. Today it is not uncommon to find a member of hospital staff who is trained in hypnosis.

Welcome to Myrtle Beach Hypnosis and enjoy the journey--I look forward to the joy of your success as you take control through hypnosis and transform you life...your destiny awaits.
