The South Carolina Cremation & Burial Society is a group of people united in the belief that cremation is a dignified method of disposition.

If cremation is not right for you, we offer simple burial. Families may choose either a church or a graveside ceremony. This is an affordable one-day simple ceremony instead of several days of viewing and elaborate services at the local funeral home.

Membership allows families to make all arrangements in advance, thereby relieving survivors of the need to make urgent decisions while in the state of grief. Pre-planning provides families with complete peace of mind, both emotionally and financially.

At the time of death, our directors are available to help survivors make arrangements. These could include memorial services, filing for certified copies of death certificate, cemetery services, obituaries for newspapers and paperwork for Veteran's benefits. No need to involve a local funeral home. We do everything.

Most Society members are attracted to the purity and dignity of this rite. Many also are concerned citizens who look toward the future and the eventual scarcity of land. Most believe that the thousands of dollars saved can be put to a much more meaningful use through bequests to children or grandchildren, or perhaps left as memorials to a favorite charity or institution as a continuing effort to build a better tomorrow.
