Ted Gene Cudd, Sr. (Ted) started Cudd Heating and Air Conditioning in October 1976 as a family business. Ted ran the business out of a block building beside his house. His wife, Ruth, kept his books part time. Their son, Ted Gene Cudd, Jr. (Gene) joined the business when he graduated high school in May of 1978.
By 1980, Cudd Heating and Air had outgrown the block building. They had to make a change. They took a step on faith and bought land on the J. A. Cochran By-Pass. In April of 1981, they moved into their new building. Ruth left her full time job and joined Cudd Heating and Air full time.
The business continued to grow and prosper under Ted's leadership. In 1999, Ted and Ruth retired and turned the business over to Gene. The business, at that time, had five employees. Gene's wife, Cathy, joined the business full time upon their retirement.
The company has continued to grow and prosper under Gene's leadership. We now have over twelve employees. Gene earned the Distinguished Dealer Award with Trane in 2006 and became a Trane Comfort Specialist in 2007. Gene still takes pride that the company his father started, over 30 years ago, is still family owned and operated.
