Charter Fishing on the North End of the Grand Strand
Fishing in Little River, South Carolina
Welcome to Little River Fishing, where big catches are common for the local fishermen.
Little River has been home to fishermen for generations... and for good reason. Some of the largest and most prized fish can be caught off the coast of South Carolina.
The local fishermen work year-round, in the winters selling their catches to local restaurants and wholesale shippers. In warmer weather, they charter fishing parties and help their guests haul in large catches, who usually take the fish home to their families.
There are different types of charters in Little River, and you should know what type suits you before planning your trip. There is party boat fishing, which takes individuals and large groups out, and there are private charters for the serious fisherman, which usually averages 6 fishermen per boat. The length of fishing trips varies, too. There are half-day trips, usually running 7 am - noon or 1 pm to 6; full day trips, usually running 7 am to 3 pm, and gulf stream trips, usually running 7 am to 6 pm. Special requests, such as night fishing, are also taken by the local charterfishermen.
The most common fish caught during these trips is black sea bass, snapper, grouper, larger sea bass, trigger, dolphin, wahoo, and king makerel.
