National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) - Greenville, South Carolina is a non-profit, grass-roots organization offering support, education and advocacy for families and friends of people with serious mental illness and for persons with serious mental illnesses.
The mission of NAMI Greenville is to improve the quality of life and treatment for those who suffer from mental illness and their family members through education, support and advocacy.
The majority of funding for NAMI Greenville comes from donations made by members of communities, individuals and corporations alike. We received our first-ever national grant in 2007 from NAMI National for our Prison Outreach Program. Our goal is to continue to find grants which will help us fund our mission; however, we will still have to rely heavily on community monetary support to sustain our level of commitment to those in need in the Greenville area.
