Our nature and mission are derived from the life and work of Jesus Christ. Our purpose, therefore, is to nourish members through the preaching and teaching of the Word, administration of the sacraments, mutual support, and an inclusive fellowship.
It is, furthermore, the responsibility of the congregation to proclaim the gospel through verbal witness, and to respond, as a servant, to human need within the immediate community and the world at large.
WINTER WEATHER POLICY
If there is an accumulation of ice or snow on the streets on Sunday morning,
we will cancel the 8:30 service.
We will attempt to hold an 11:00 am service for those who can safely attend,
provided the staff can safely get to St. Michael’s.
As soon as a decision is made it will be recorded on the voice mail system,
posted on the website (if possible) and submitted to News Channels 4 & 7.
We are centered in Lutheran liturgical worship which cherishes Word and Sacrament and celebrates music as God’s gift for “expressing the inexpressible.”
We focus on intentional social ministry, seeking to become involved personally and congregationally in many ways of “Serving Christ in the World.”
In a society in which most of us do not have extended family living nearby, we seek to become family for each other and endeavor to practice Christian community in our life together.
We own and operate two single-family homes which we utilize through our partnership with GAIHN in the ministry of providing transitional housing for families working to achieve economic sufficiency.
