Lake Wylie area cheerleaders head to nationals in Disney
Lake Wylie Athletic Association Pee Wee and Junior Pee Week squads are headed to the ESPN wide world of sports in Florida to compete for a national championship on Dec. 6. Both squads are representing the state of South Carolina at Nationals in Disney and they must raise money for this special trip. Donations may be sent to LWAA at P.O. BOX 5299, Lake Wylie, SC 29710.
Christmas Town USA lights up Dec. 1
What started with the stringing of lights on a few trees in 1956 has evolved into a large scale operation in which the local manufacturing company, Pharr Yarns, partners with town residents to place nearly half a million lights on more than 375 fir trees.
